What is the Companion Collection?
The Companion Collection is a cohesive body of original paintings designed to work together. Each piece is created to stand confidently on its own while also pairing seamlessly with coordinating companion works, allowing designers to create impactful, architecturally balanced installations.
Who is the Companion Collection designed for?
The collection was developed specifically for luxury residential, hospitality, multifamily, resort, private club, and commercial interiors where scale, cohesion, and visual continuity are important.
Can companion pieces be displayed vertically or horizontally?
Many works in the Companion Collection are designed with flexibility in mind and can be installed vertically or horizontally depending on the space and desired aesthetic. Installation recommendations are available upon request.
Can additional companion pieces be commissioned to complete a project?
Yes. Additional companion works can often be created to expand an existing collection and accommodate specific project requirements. Please allow approximately three weeks for most additions.
Are all works original?
Yes. Every painting in the Companion Collection is an original artwork created by Karen Hewitt Hagan.
Are reproductons avaialbe?
No. Pease inquire if you have specific need for a large number of fine art closed edition prints. Each inquiry will be evalutated specifically.
How does the Companion Collection help with large-scale projects?
The Companion Collection simplifies the art selection process by providing coordinated works that share a unified color palette, visual rhythm, and aesthetic language. This allows designers to create a cohesive experience across multiple spaces while maintaining individuality within each installation.
Can artwork be customized for a project?
Yes. Color palette, scale, orientation, and composition can often be tailored to complement the project's architecture, furnishings, and design intent.
Do you work directly with interior designers and architects?
Absolutely. I frequently collaborate with interior designers, architects, art consultants, and hospitality teams throughout the specification process to ensure artwork aligns with the project's vision and functional requirements.
What information is needed to begin a project?
Helpful information includes floor plans, elevations, renderings, inspiration images, preferred dimensions, installation location, project timeline, and budget parameters.
Can artwork be created to specific dimensions?
Yes. Custom sizing is available for many projects, allowing artwork to fit precisely within designated architectural spaces.
Do you provide digital renderings or mockups?
Yes. Digital placement renderings can be provided when wall dimensions and project imagery are available, helping clients visualize the artwork within the intended space.
Do you provide actual samples on canvas?
Yes, small color samples (4x4 inches) are avaialbe for pick up at my DCOTA studio or request them by email or text.
What is the typical lead time for commissions?
Lead times vary depending on size, complexity, and project scope. Most custom additions to existing collections can be completed within approximately three weeks, while larger commissions may require additional time.
Are trade pricing and volume considerations available?
Yes. Trade professionals are invited to inquire about project pricing, multi-piece installations, and volume opportunities.
Can artwork be shipped nationally?
Yes. Artwork is professionally packaged and shipped or sent by white glove delivery throughout the United States. International shipping may also be available upon request.
Where can I view available collections?
Available Companion Collections and current works can be viewed at karenhewitthagan.com. Studio visits at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach, Florida, may also be arranged.
What makes the Companion Collection unique?
Each collection is conceived as a complete visual solution rather than a series of unrelated artworks. The paintings are unified through palette, movement, and composition, creating a refined, cohesive presence that enhances luxury interiors while allowing flexibility in placement and scale.
How do you approach artwork for luxury residential and hospitality spaces?
Every painting is created with scale, sightlines, and the client experience in mind. My goal is to create architecturally aware statement pieces that integrate seamlessly into refined interiors, bringing cohesion, sophistication, and a defining visual element to the space without competing with the overall design.
