...painting.
I'm looking back and looking forward all in one glace. My workshop at Lake Garda Italy is fast approaching and I just happened to run across this little plein air study that I did when I was teaching there 15 years ago. Yes, in 2010. Long ago, right.
But reading the artist notes on the back of that little painting takes me back like it was yesterday. I'm a big believer of scribbling some notes on paintings, remembering what struck me and how things felt. While it's fresh, even if there are mis-spellings and incorrect grammar. I'm always looking for the essence. Even smells, and sounds sometimes make it into the notes. I'm looking forward to finding this exact spot and working here again. I'm sure it'll be different, maybe better. Let the adventure begin!
